Non Profit Org. Partnership
During the course of the financial year Conserve Italia has contributed with product donations to support initiatives of national, regional and territorial charitable organisations such as sport communities, parishes and Scout movements. Product donations are a way to exploit surpluses of production distributing them in favour of the needy. Here are the main associations supported by Conserve Italia. Since 1922, Conserve Italia has been continuously supporting the activities of the “Banco Alimentare” (Food Bank) which collects the stocks and distributes products to various organisations which give assistance to the needy on a very wide scale. Conserve Italia donates the “Banco Alimentare” approximately 15.000 empty boxes used for food collection in the Emilia Romagna region. Conserve Italia also sends aid in the form of food to missionaries which operate in Perù with the “Operazione Mato Grosso” promoted by “Missioni Don Bosco Onlus”. The company gives its contribution in order to try to solve the problem of high food shortages that trouble this region of South America; the missionaries and the voluntaries have to face these problems every day. Conserve Italia makes product donations to the “Associazione 3° Millennio” which assists many disadvantaged people: hospital patients, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, homecare for minors, handicapped and elderly. With its products, Conserve Italia shares in supporting the “Associazione Amici del Benin”, created to help the poor in Western Africa, where meningitis, malaria, starvation and lack of drinking water are a reason for high infant mortality. Conserve Italia donated about 600 tons of its products during the last accounting year to the non profit organizations described above (50% of which to “Banco Alimentare”). An additional 58 tons of products was distributed to a hundred parishes, charities and other humanitarian organizations.
Conserve Italia makes an economic contribution to “Onlus Fa.Ne.P.” (Family Association Pediatric Neurology), created in 1983 by a group of parents of children with neuropsychiatric diseases, and doctors and nurses of the department of Pediatric Neurology of the Gozzadini Institute in Bologna. Furthermore Conserve Italia supports various initiatives: sport associations, Scout movements at regional and national level, with products donation of about 70 tons which were used as prizes to partecipants.
