| Conserve Italia markets borlotti beans under the Valfrutta brand and processes them only from fresh. The beans are not, therefore, re-hydrated as is usually the case with other manufacturers. The quality controls begin in the fields where the beans are planted and are continued throughout the processing cycle right up to the finished packaged product. |
The beans are shelled at source during the harvesting, when they reach the plants they are immediately sampled for quality control purposes. The beans are then selected and graded using optical controls which is followed by a second manual control before the beans are washed and blanched in hot water. The beans are processed using part of the cooking water/liquid which enhances the product's conservation in natural way and packaged into cans or glass jars before the final phase of sterilisation. The entire process from harvesting in the fields to the packaging of the finished products in cans or glass jars is performed within 24 hours. |

| Conserve Italia also processes borlotti beans and peas using steam cooking technology. The Valfrutta brand markets the “Cotti a Vapore” range (Steam Cooked Vegetables) which has the advantage of brine-free products, ready for immediate use. Furthermore the “Cotti a Vapore” range is packed in single serve cans (180g).
