Conserve Italia Group’s preserved fruit (in syrup and in juice) is produced in the Pomposa plant in the Province of Ferrara, Italy and in the French plant of Vauvert, in the south-east of France. The Pomposa plant has a processing capacity of 35,000 tonnes of pears (Williams variety) and 25,000 tonnes of peaches. The plant also processes fruit cocktail.
Peaches Conserve Italia’s peaches in syrup are unmistakable and easily recognised as they are packaged in glass jars. Yellow-orange, perfect in shape and rich in pulp this variety is grown by experienced co-operative members. The fruit are processed at the plant beginning with a mechanical selection based on size, removing unwanted ones.

| The peaches are washed in bathtubs with constantly running water and then cut in half and stoned one by one. The fruit is peeled separately, rinsed and then processed into the different packaging containers (jars, tins etc.). The containers are filled by “drop filling” and syrup or juice is added (water and sugar or grape juice); finallys a watertight seal is applied before the pasteurisation process is completed. |
Pears Conserve Italia was the first producer of pears in syrup at the European level. The Williams pear variety is used exclusively. These pears are appreciated for their taste, flavour and consistency of the pulp that makes it particularly suitable for the production of pears in syrup. The pears are selected according to their size by co-operative members and stocked in refrigerated warehouses before being taken to the production plant. The storage is temperature controlled in order to make sure that the pear mature uniformly. After Quality Control approval the pears are processed. They are washed, peeled and then cut using a series of blades that follow the profile of the pear and removes the core. The pears are cut in half or into segments.

Fruit Cocktail Fruit Cocktail in syrup is made from a mixture of Williams pears and yellow peaches that represent approximately 85% of the product, the other added ingredients include: grapes, cherries, pineapple or papaya. The processing of this product follows the same high standard of the peaches and pears. The peaches and pears are cut into small cubes as are the other types of fruit.
